So we’re halfway through 2018 and Googles recent algorithm changes, even know they won’t say their algorithm changes have knocked a few websites sidewards.
In this post, I’ll share with you top strategies for On-page SEO and what you can do to overcome your competitors with just a few tweaks of your website pages and posts including other things that we will be covering in this post.
So let’s dive right in.
The first thing you want to look at and changing is the page title; now I know some experts suggest that title tag has no real effect, but I believe and have tested changing the title tags, it’s beneficial in your Google positioning in the Google search.
I strongly recommend you change the URL to the same keywords that you use for the title, so it sounds if you’ve created a page or blog post with the title of “pink pigs go on sale”. Then I would use the URL with something like /pink-pigs-go-online-sale. It helps Google understand what this page or post is really about. Don’t keyword spam the title, I strongly suggest using one keyword and then text alongside it like this for instance.
1. Overlooked metadata can often be a problem, and with the rise of WordPress it’s now powering a considerable amount of websites on the internet, and also one of the biggest SEO plug-ins out there Yoast SEO duplicates some of the data on every page so making each page’s title and description would significantly increase your chance of gaining first page rankings.
2. At an image with the caption of that message, helps add a few more keywords on the blog article or page, it also helps for user experience. No, I’m not sure whether this has been a correlation with Google, but other SEO experts have said that your User experience (UX) has a factor within SEO and I actually do believe that that is the case as Google is and still is measuring your website bounce rate, I find that people will see that image understand what it’s about with the keywords or a caption on the picture. It will also help with SEO with those additional few keywords within a page.
3. I would add three or four main keywords within the body of the page or post so I would usually put it at the top in the middle and the bottom of the page/post. Add one of those keywords as a link back to one of your internal pages, so for instance if the blog post is about “pink pigs” and how you sell the “best pink pigs” what I would do is add a link back from the keyword to a page, to the “buying pink pigs” page on the website.
4. What I would do is if it’s a WordPress site or a standard HTML site I would add to the right-hand sidebar or left-hand sidebar depending on which orientation you have built into the place on and add a contact form on the post or page, so again for instance if that post about pigs, you just uploaded is about “pink pigs” I would have a particular “pink pig” contact from “how to buy the pink pigs online” or enquire more about the “pink pigs” etc.
5. I would also add to the bottom of that the contact information regarding any information to contact you directly such as name address or telephone number I’ll also add am your Author information at the bottom of page about you know that can be you with the director of the business we could be the author who wrote that blog articles with it somewhere different like a guest writer that is also good
6. I would add social media bookmarks at the bottom of the article reason I added to the lower part of the article is you don’t wanna ask someone soon as the land of the page to share that article or page that they have when they haven’t even read the content yet it’s quite annoying, I think what you’ll find is more people share and like the post if you’ve had it at the bottom and also is well out in the contact card in the proportion details to them from the from the author also helps because that will build up I thought it was Google.
7. Start with a keyword on the first page of the title, I have tested for this and find that this was well but don’t Keyword stuff. Use it as a sort of a beginning title, as we’ve done on this post.
8. Make sure to use H1, H2 and H3 within the text. Ensure that you use the H1 tag for the blog title then maybe H2 or H3 for a subtitle if you need it and then just use regular font on the text of the actual blog post I know we tend to go with around 16 pixels depending on the audience of the website if you find that over 50s are coming to your site that you will increase that around 18 or 20 pixels as long as there is around no more than around 70 characters on a line.
9. Use longer wording blog posts and pages, we recently tested this, we used a 500-word article and also just over a 1,000-word article. We found that the one with over 1,000 words reached the first page of Google for its main keywords and showed up a lot more in the rankings for different keywords in Google than the 500-word post.
